Multicultural or Third-Culture Kid Focussed Therapy

Navigating the pressures to immigrant parents; the shame, guilt or second-guessing that often comes with trying to balance the invisible boundaries of cultural majority strivings and ethnic minority values (or code of conduct) are struggles understood by me both personally and professionally.

Personally, being part of an ethnic minority, having an international background, and experience as an immigrant, I am very attuned to the ways cultural nuances impact our lives.

Professionally, I have had years of training and research on how best to work with clients whose lives are impacted by cultural diversity issues, especially issues unique to Third-Culture Kids, and Ex-Pats.  I also have over 20 years of experience providing direct clinical services to:

  • Third Culture Kids (TCKs)
  • Ex Pats/International students
  • First and second generation immigrants
  • Professionals from the World Bank, IMF and other global organizations.
  • Individual and couples who are ethnically/racially mixed
  • Anglo-Americans seeking individual therapy who are in relationships with cultural minority partners

As your therapist, I will help you explore what values and sense of identity are ones you want to keep, ones you want to let go, and ones you want to continue to abide by even if they are no longer yours.
